Highlight of the day: Is there anything more beautiful than untouched nature?
When I left the hotel this morning, I had still entered Montreux as my destination in my hiking app. At the trail sign, however, I only read Vevey, which made me change my plans because I saw that it was the better solution.
Looking back now, I have to say that it was a good decision because it was my shortest hike so far, but scenically one of the most beautiful. Although I assumed that it would only go downhill, as the path followed a stream. So I was very surprised when it suddenly went steeply uphill. Only then did I study the elevation curve and actually see that there were several inclines as well.
But it was precisely because of that that the path was very varied and scenically beautiful. Several times I had to cross streams, which led to very nice photos. When you look at them, you will see that it was worth taking this path.
The highlight of the day, of course, was the arrival at Lake Geneva. With that, I have reached my first goal and from here on begins the circumnavigation of the lake.
Since today is Sunday, there were of course many families and walkers along the lakeshore. But after being alone on the hiking trail for a long time, I didn't mind, on the contrary, I was happy to hear voices again.
Now I have already completed several kilometers of the circumnavigation, as I have hiked all the way to Montreux. Here I found an inexpensive hotel right by the lake, where I can rest a little before dinner.
