Auf in die Berge

It was time to say goodbye to Areopoli and therefore to the Mani region, and go on the last leg of our vacation to the mountains.

About halfway there, we made a stop just a few kilometers away from Sparta and climbed Mystras. Similar to Monemvasia, this former Byzantine city is built on a hillside, so the visit is combined with a small mountain hike. The climb was worth it, the view was fantastic.

In the late afternoon, we reached our destination - Elliniko, a really small mountain village. At first glance, the hotel met the enthusiastic reviews, even though we are the only guests for the next couple of days. We ended the evening in the spa area with a whirlpool and sauna.
