Sand and whales

After Brisbane we picked up our campervan to drive up north to Hervey Bay - to pick up another, more suitable car for an island full of sand - Fraser Island. Three fabulous days followed with Giselles Grandpa and his girlfriend Irene.

We camped in beautiful spots, climbed sand dunes, wadded through cristal clear creeks, and swam in green and blue lakes! Driving on sand for three days was unique and surprisingly the car survived every bump - the passengers too!

On the last day of our time around Hervey Bay we made a full day whale watch tour. The whales offered a great show.

Calves with their mums were swimming for minutes in front of us, playing with their tails and fins, jumping out of the water and showing all their skills. We had a great day.
