After yesterday's exciting and eventful yet quite exhausting day, we took it a bit easier today and enjoyed the fantastic weather at the beach. Waikiki Beach was as crowded as always, but the water was wonderful and the sun was shining from morning till evening. Although Waikiki is the most famous beach in Oahu and probably in all of Hawaii, there are much more beautiful and peaceful beaches around the island. However, they are not right in front of the countless big hotels.
In the evening, there was a very special puzzle to solve. 2 days ago, we desperately tried to find a store that carries a specific brand of Hawaiian flip-flops that Brigitte absolutely wanted to buy here in Hawaii. It's called "Olukai" flip-flops. We wandered around the Hilton Hawaiian Village for almost an hour, after walking there for about 20 minutes. The Hilton Hawaiian Village has several restaurants, designer stores, and jewelers, but we couldn't find the Olukai store. None of the other shop owners could help us either. Unfortunately, we had to leave without any success, much to Brigitte's disappointment. Today, we made a second attempt after doing some research on the Internet and realizing that the Hilton Village was actually much bigger than we thought. And what can I say, after a wonderful sunset walk along the Beachwalk, we (actually I ๐) found the aforementioned store that we thought didn't exist. This made Brigitte's day. By the way, the salesperson found the story so funny that he took photos of us immediately to put them on the website. PS: Now, there are 2 new pairs of Olukai flip-flops in Brigitte's shoe cabinet ๐.
Tomorrow, we will be picked up early in the morning to take the morning tour to Pearl Harbor.
