We are already in Pai for the fourth day. Originally, we just wanted to visit the small village, but we liked it so much that we extended our stay for two more nights. The atmosphere here is very relaxed and we have met some amazing people. Since it's not high season at the moment, there aren't too many tourists, which we actually find quite nice. We also quickly found a new accommodation. We stayed in a small resort with a pool and spacious rooms. We practically have the whole place to ourselves and haven't seen many other tourists around.
We have been exploring Pai every day. Among other things, we rented a scooter to explore the surrounding area. There is a huge canyon in Pai that we went to see. It was quite an adventurous experience walking and climbing in the canyon, but it was truly unforgettable. We also took some beautiful photos and enjoyed the breathtaking views of the Pai landscape. We visited the hidden Pam Bok Waterfall, which required a half-hour hike up the mountain. It was a really cool experience. We also visited the White Buddha, which had a stunning view. The highlight of our trip to Pai was probably the visit to Lod Cave. It was a gigantic cave that took us an hour and a half to explore. It's hard to put into words because it's something you have to see for yourself. If any of you have the chance to visit Pai, we highly recommend it. It has been an incredible experience, especially considering that it's quite off the beaten path. We had to ride the scooter for an hour and a half to get there, but the journey was beautiful and the time flew by. Meli drove on the way there, and on the way back, I got to enjoy the views.
Today is our last day in Pai. We don't have much planned for today. We are just relaxing by the pool (which we have all to ourselves), writing a bit on the blog, and simply enjoying doing nothing and taking it easy. Later, we will probably go out for a nice dinner and maybe have a night out. There is always something happening in Pai in the evenings. There are also many street food stalls on one street where you can find fresh food and drinks. Maybe we will also visit another waterfall where we can go swimming, but we will decide that spontaneously. Tomorrow will be a long day, so it's good to relax today. First, we will take a bus back to Chiang Mai and then fly south to Surat Thani. Finally, we will be at the beach, and we are really looking forward to it! But before we reach our final destination, we will have to take a ferry for about 3 hours to Koh Phangan.
We wish you a wonderful summer in Switzerland. The weather here is pretty similar to what you have over there.
