After Chichén Itzá, we headed to Tulum. After a 3-hour bus ride, we arrived at our hostel, Quintana Roots. It's a really great hostel, I can highly recommend it.
Day 1:
Actually, we didn't want to do much more and thought, hey, let's go to the beach. Don't even think about walking from the hostel. It's crazy how far it is, seriously :D My blisters constantly remind me. But it was definitely worth it, the beach and the sea were beautiful. As a reward for the long walk, we had delicious burgers in the evening ♡
Day 2:
Before going to the ruins, we rented a bicycle. 100 pesos per day is totally fine and it's a lot of fun. You have some respect for the traffic, but it's manageable. Close your eyes and go for it ;D
On the way to the ruins, we bumped into Barbara from the hostel in Cancun and when we arrived, 3 more from the hostel were there. It's such a small world :D
The ruins themselves are really great, especially because they are right by the sea. Honestly, I even liked them better than the ruins in Chichén Itzá.
After that, we went to the Carwash Cenote (Cenotes are limestone sinkholes that formed, among other things, due to the collapse of a cave ceiling and are filled with fresh water). And yes, the cenote really has that name :)
Super clear and cool water with lots of little fish (you have to like them). It was really nice until we spotted a little crocodile. I've never been out of the water so fast and afterwards, no one wanted to go in anymore, strange :D Apparently, it's completely normal and they don't do anything.
All in all, it's been great here so far and definitely worth a visit ♡
