Cape Palliser π, the drive here was a pure spectacle. We drove all the way from Hastings to here, and at the end, I got so tired that I dozed off for a moment but woke up immediately. And when I saw the sea, I was back again π, so turquoise blue shimmering, and nothing but beach and mountains all around. We drove all the way down to the lighthouse, which of course we climbed. During the 280 steps to the top, we already noticed that our fitness level is not the best π . Today it was so windy, and Rebecca and I both wore a dress π€¦π½ββοΈ. Let's just say that other visitors on the lighthouse saw things that no one wants to see π . It even blew away my expensive Helmut sunglasses, which I then chased after like a crazy person π€£. After all, it's a brand-name sunglasses ππ€πΌ. But the climb was worth it. When we came down again, we discovered a huge seal colony spread across the beach π. That was an absolute highlight. We quickly got tired and decided to drive to the campground and go to sleep. But there's one thing I didn't miss during the whole time, public toilets π«. And as if that's not enough, I can't go to bed without taking a shower... that's just gross π . Becci doesn't seem to have a problem with that somehow. So I had to shower behind dumpsters with my water bottle since there was no public shower anywhere... hopefully, it will get better ππ.
