After pressing the alarm clock 'by accident' for another hour, we started our day at 10 o'clock.
Thanks to jet lag 🙈😉.
Today's plan was to take the shuttle boat to China Town and explore the alleys there.
Unfortunately, it turned out to be not so easy, as we had to disappoint six official-looking boat ticket sellers to reach the local shuttle boat. The local pier was in the far corner of the pier. But the difference is worth it. The front boats cost an average of €5 per person/ride. The local boat, on the other hand, only €0.60 🕵️♂️💪 and it still floats 😉.
Chinatown mainly consists of many small alleys with dozens of market stalls. The difference from yesterday's market was that they mainly sold kitsch, plastic trinkets, and a little more street food. Who needs a poop or Mohrhuhn hat, soapy penises, or naked plastic women for dog fetching 😂? At least we were able to enjoy an excellent Peking duck there 🤤.
Afterwards, we wanted to do something more cultural and took a tuk-tuk to Wat Pho (Sleeping Buddha) in style. Suddenly, Christian was measured and bought a suit 🙈😂.
Background: Since it was so crowded there, the temple security organized a new tuk-tuk for us, including a stop at a temple with a Buddha figure for eternal love and a tailor 😉.
We were able to admire Wat Pho on the second try, with a lot less hustle and bustle 👌.
After a foot massage with a beer in hand and live music, we're starting the evening in Rambuttri Alley in the Khaosan area.
We'll tell you tomorrow what else happens to us here and today on the flight to Laos 😉
Just to let you know, right at the beginning, Nathalie was handed a tray that made all the color drain from her face. A tray full of tentacles and skewered scorpions. At home, she had a big mouth 🙈. Whether she actually gathers the courage remains to be seen... 😳
... to be continued
P.S. Christian said he had one of his best Thai meals in a local restaurant today. Unfortunately, Nathalie cannot judge this. She had the 'paprika' 🌶 🤣.
