Afterwards, I'll go to Darwin Airport and drop off my car in the scorching heat.
Darwin Airport is cute - a relatively large domestic section that you can enter first. You don't even have to give up liquids at the security control... :-)
In the National Terminal, there is an access to the International Terminal - this terminal has exactly 4 departure gates and a lounge... ;-)
Finally, at 3:45 pm local time in Darwin, my first leg of the trip to Singapore begins.
Goodbye Darwin, goodbye Australia!!!
Goodbye Darwin... ...maybe again in this life...
The flight is smooth, it's only about 5 hours from Darwin to Singapore...What special cloud formations somewhere over Indonesia... Singapore welcomes me with a beautiful sunset... I land in Singapore on time and go to the lounge - more than 5 hours of waiting - the plane to Zurich only leaves at 1:30 am local time in Singapore... But time passes by and I make my way to my second to last leg home...The lounge in Singapore... Eternal waiting... I'm already 'dog tired', but I can still manage a smile... ;-)) The flight is then quite fine, most of the time I sleep in the Singapore Airlines A380. I finally land in Zurich just before 8 am, despite a nearly 1-hour delay on takeoff from Singapore...Despite several hours of sleep, I'm not quite fresh in Zurich... :-)) The luggage arrives quickly, everything goes smoothly with the rental car, and I'm back home shortly before noon after 32 days... It was great - I can highly recommend it - Down Under is definitely worth a trip... :-)))
