Pacific Harbour - a place on the south coast of Viti Levu Island, directly by the sea. Very beautiful villas in green gardens are inhabited by very nice people. Everyone here greeted us with the word Bula. The place is known for the Beqa Lagoon. Here we dived down to 19 meters to have an encounter of the special and quite dangerous kind. We experienced two energetic dives with bull sharks, lemon sharks, whitetip reef sharks, gray reef sharks, nurse sharks, and silver-tip sharks. We sat in the water hidden behind a small wall and in front of us blue barrels of shark food were opened. The sharks went crazy for the barrels, swimming circles in front and above us. Some came as close as 20 centimeters, then they got a tap on the nose from our guides with a curved metal hook. Incredibly impressive animals, but also very intimidating. After a relaxed day strolling through the Art Village of the city and along the beach, we got another dose of adrenaline. Early in the morning, we took a bus far into the countryside and up the mountains. Once at the top, we hiked a steep and muddy footpath for 20 minutes before boarding our raft. We floated down the river for a total of 27 kilometers. Sometimes with a bit more current, sometimes completely relaxed, passing by gorgeous landscapes and waterfalls. We definitely got completely wet. After a beautiful and exciting day, we continued to Nadi for a short overnight stay.
