At the start of today's stage, I was faced with a climb of over 600 meters over 10 kilometers. With the best weather and beautiful views, the effort was bearable, and there were also motivating slogans along the road. Finally reaching the top, the water supply was running low again, but there was replenishment in Sestri Levante after a quick descent.
On the rest of the stage, there were occasional smaller climbs, but nothing compared to the first mountain. Especially the ride through the Portofino National Park was a highlight.
I was on my way to Genoa. From there, I wanted to take a train to Milan due to time constraints, before finally returning to Germany by Flixbus. Since there seemed to be no campsites in Genoa itself, I headed for a well-rated site in Bogliasco. It was located on a hill, so I had to pedal hard on the last stretch. There were no rules on the tent meadow of the campsite. It was terraced. Since many people stretched their tent ropes across the entire terrace, it was hardly possible to pass by on foot or by bike. The meadow was also pretty crowded, but I found a small piece of land.
For shopping, I went down a steep staircase into the town, and steeply uphill on the way back. In the evening, I cooked a decent portion and talked on the phone with Laura for a while.
