Today we checked out, had breakfast (of course Poa de Queijo with Acai), and went to the airport.
Since we had read a lot beforehand that traffic in Rio can be very tricky and that it can take several hours to drive through the city due to miles of traffic jams, we naturally, in typical German fashion, arrived at the airport way too early.
We had already checked in yesterday evening, so all we had to do was drop off our luggage at the counter of the Brazilian airline GOL.
Of course, we were once again the only tourists.
The flight went very smoothly, we got a small snack (crackers) and a drink. At the airport, we were picked up by our driver who was booked together with the accommodation, and compared to our previous Uber rides, he was outrageously expensive. When we arrived at Poussada des Arts, we were greeted warmly and after providing all the usual personal data, the owner, Rose, showed us to our colorful room.
In the evening, we strolled through the old town of Salvador and bought our very first Caipirinha in Brazil at a small street stand... and I can tell you, it was really strong!!! It seemed like the Caipirinha was made up only of sweetened alcohol and lots of ice.
