Tag 12 From Città di Castello near Pietralunga

The day from Città di Castello to Pietralunga was not characterized by top hiking achievements. Due to the length of the stage, we had already decided in advance to cover this route by bus. However, this opened up new possibilities. So I used the time until the bus left for a detailed tour of the historic old town and a delicious, extensive breakfast together in the piazza. Then we continued by bus to our destination for the day. The bus was again a revelation: about 50 km for 6 €. However, the bus only carried three passengers in total, including us.

In Pietralunga we first visited the small but beautiful old town and then went to our accommodation. Nobby's instinct for good locations was evident here too. A very nice apartment with a large open fireplace and a dignified atmosphere.

We were just getting ready to go out for the evening when there was a knock on the door: Verena was standing at the door; she had booked the other apartment by chance.

The landlord then offered to drive us to the historic center, which was on the mountain, for dinner and to pick us up again (what a legendary service). We couldn't turn down this offer. When we get to the top we meet Timur and other colleagues. There are no coincidences. We all spent the evening together in a small restaurant. One of those evenings along the way that you don't easily forget.

Finally our hostel father picked us up again and took us to the accommodation.

And one of the sayings that Nobby had repeatedly told me beforehand came true again:

The path does something to people, even if it only brings them together again and again.
