Tag 10 From Caprese Michelangelo nach Sansepolcro

Today's tour was supposed to be long but not too strenuous. In the morning we started under overcast skies, but at least it was dry and not too cold. Immediately after setting off we met Verena, a teacher from Cologne (we had met her in La Verna and have met her again since then), who was to accompany us on our tour today. After a not too steep climb, there was a leisurely descent to the Lago di Montedoglio reservoir. In the valley we then followed the course of the Tiber to our destination in Sansepolcro. Despite today being Easter Sunday, we hoped to find an open restaurant in the town. We then discovered that Sansepolcro has a really beautiful old town where the mob was raging. Not only were all the restaurants open, contrary to expectations, but on this comparatively warm spring evening the town was full of people. We then found a nice restaurant where we could end the day.
