On our last day in NYC yesterday we went on a shopping tour along 5th Avenue. We happened to run into a Trump 🤡 and had a really good laugh. Suddenly we were standing in front of Trump Tower 😅. Afterwards we arrived in a city within the city: Rockefeller Center. We first had lunch there. On the way back we made a stop at St. Patrick's Cathedral. There are a noticeable number of Germans in New York - with all the peculiarities of “us” 🤦🏼♂️😁.
We spent the sunset at the Edge. The highlight are the glass panes on the floor of the viewing platform - not made for everyone 😄.
When we wanted to take the subway back to the hotel, it failed for technical reasons. Since we had met a group minutes before - consisting of a German living in New York, a New Yorker and a French woman - we set off together on foot in the same direction. It was very exciting and fun to talk to them. Coincidences can enrich life. In this respect, we are not sad that the subway is canceled 🤗.
Overall, it can be said that Elisa really liked New York from the start. I was a little more skeptical at first, but I jumped on the bandwagon a little more day by day. In the end we leave NYC with one laughing eye and one crying eye.
Nevertheless, I would like to emphasize that the presumably extreme excesses of capitalism are visible on every corner: very poor and very rich (still) live side by side here, so to speak.
I have a sore throat every day. What I won't miss in New York is the air conditioning... Now we're off to Vegas 😁🙈🤔
Kind regards from Newark Airport at Gate C107 ✈️
