Today we continue to Norway. Before we cross the border, we do some shopping because beer is going to be really expensive soon... We're leaving Sweden, it was beautiful!
The border station is deserted in the deepest mountain region, no one to be seen even though we're leaving the EU... It looked very different when we crossed over to Denmark, despite being in the EU... it's hard to understand!
Our destination is Narvik, a "relatively" large port city. The iron ore mined by LKAB from Kiruna is transported here by train and then shipped to all over the world.
But our mission in Narvik is a hairdresser visit. It was about time... Fortunately, we both got appointments in Kristina's Barber & Hairdresser Shop. We spent the waiting time by taking a walk around the city.
The result: very well done!
The price: quite a statement...!
Our most expensive hairdresser visit, a total of 1450 NOK... uiuiuiui... there's actually not much hair to cut on us...! I paid 500 NOK and Jörni paid 950 NOK because he also got his beard trimmed!
Well... everything is a bit more expensive here in Norway. But it looks great, that's the main thing!
Around 5:30 pm, we find a mini campsite, in the middle of nowhere, right on the owner's farm, with a view of the mountains. We immediately take a walk down to the water with the dog upon arrival. The sun manages to squeeze through the clouds one more time and shines right in our faces. The dog takes the opportunity to go for a swim and we find a nice bench at the end of a promontory and are impressed by the beautiful scenery. Yes, with a beer in hand! We realize that the landscape here has already changed again and Norway has plenty of water to offer. Jörni spots a whole school of mackerel (silver fish, he simply calls them mackerel) and I try to convince him that it's almost as good as seeing a moose... I fail! In the evening, we have a baguette with salmon and enjoy a cozy evening.
