Koh Tao...

E hatisitsoe: 04.08.2017

Our first and longest stop in the south was the island of Koh Tao. Or rather, we first went to the coastal town of Surat Thani and from there took a speedboat, after a very long ride, to Koh Tao. I don't want to go into detail about the journey, because I don't know how much Kristina has told you at home. So I prefer to keep this horror to myself! Just try to find out before the boat trip if there might be bad weather. If so, do not get on this boat under any circumstances!

Once we arrived on the island, everything was fine. We treated ourselves to a really nice hotel and had a beautiful beach right in front of us and a great view from our room. We also explored Koh Tao again with a scooter and zoomed around the whole island to discover hidden corners, beaches and viewpoints. The paths were sometimes really, really, really adventurous, steep and bumpy. But we managed it all well and Kristina gathered all her courage not to jump off the scooter. Close your eyes and go through:))). Most of the time, the paths were really worth it and we were rewarded with beautiful views. At the first viewpoint, we had a quaint pub all to ourselves. We enjoyed a few cold drinks, left our mark on the wooden beams that were scribbled everywhere, and swung a few rounds. At the second and probably the most beautiful viewpoint of Koh Tao, we really broke a sweat. With our flip-flops and Birkenstocks, we climbed very steeply uphill over rocks and stones. There were no stairs, only small narrow paths and occasionally a rope on the edge to hold on to. When we reached the top, we couldn't stop marveling. Such a beautiful view of the turquoise water!!!! We could also see our hotel perfectly from here. We sat on the rocks for quite a while just to enjoy the moment.

Unfortunately, the rainy season caught us pretty badly on Koh Tao and it rained every day. Most of the time, it rained for a long time. So we couldn't enjoy our beach too often, but once we grabbed the snorkel and explored the underwater world a little bit.

On a day when it rained heavily again, we grabbed the watermelon we had bought just before, borrowed a knife at the hotel restaurant, and carved a watermelon dress for ourselves. So when it rains in paradise and boredom sets in, something like what you can see in the pictures is created.

Despite the rainy weather, we had a very nice time on Koh Tao. We continued with the speedboat to Koh Samui.
