Ngati Toa Domain, Porirua in Wellington

To finally open a New Zealand bank account, we drive to the city center of Wellington. After spending some time in ANZ, we leave the bank without new accounts, but with a good alternative. To strengthen ourselves for the rest of the day, we sit down in a café. Afterwards, we visit the Parliament and take a guided tour. We are very enthusiastic about this tour. On the one hand, the government buildings are constructed from New Zealand's own resources and influenced by traditional art (including Maori art). On the other hand, we are very impressed by the government's approach. Democracy seems very transparent and realistic, as people from everyday life with practical experience are consulted on any question. Age is completely irrelevant in this process. For example, the three of us as travelers have the right to express our opinions in Parliament.

On our way back to the car, we stroll through the city and then drive to a campground near the ferry terminal.
