Coffs Harbour (29.01- 01.02.2019)

We continued on to Coffs Harbour. On the way, we traveled with the Greyhound bus and passed by two attractions in Australia. Throughout the country, there are huge sculptures distributed, featuring regional food specialties. For example, in Bown, we passed by the Big Mango. Along this route, we also passed by the Prawn of Ballina and finally the Big Banana of Coffs Harbour. Coffs Harbour is, therefore, unmistakably known for banana cultivation.

When we arrived and checked into our hostel, we realized that the hostel was very deserted. We didn't see any people anywhere. The hostel used to be a hotel, now a bit run-down and converted into a restaurant and a backpacker. So we were happy to have a room to ourselves again. After resting, we took a stroll in Coffs Harbour. By then, it was already late, so not much was happening.

The next day, we went to the beach. But first, we went to the Beacon Hill Lookout. It was unusually windy that day. The wind and the cool weather persisted throughout our stay. Absolutely delightful! Then we went to the Coffs Harbour Southern Break Wall. That's where we saw the first people in Coffs Harbour. It was really unusually empty here. We continued along the beach to the city center. There wasn't much going on there either. Coffs Harbour is quite small, mind you. After a little stroll, we returned to our accommodation. Late in the evening, someone else came and slept in our room. We found that quite strange, considering that seemingly every other room was empty, but it was only for one night. In the morning, he checked out.

The next day, after a leisurely start, we went to a shopping center and strolled around, observed people, and did some shopping.

Our next stop is Kempsey, where we will visit Ben's old coach. By the way, the last full month of the stay is now beginning.
