Hong Kong is divided into various islands. One of the main islands is Hong Kong Island, which offers a variety of activities for visitors. From beautiful hiking trails to shopping streets to vibrant entertainment districts, Hong Kong Island has it all.
We have tried everything =) The first few pictures show the stunning view of the city from Victoria Peak. In the foreground, you can see the skyscrapers of Hong Kong Island, while in the background, on the other side of the river, you can see Kowloon (another major district). The viewpoint can be reached on foot or by a small train. The footpath is surrounded by a jungle-like forest and is very, very steep ;) It's not easy to find the start of the footpath, so a little research should be done beforehand.
Hong Kong Island also offers two amazing entertainment districts, which are expensive but still worth it. The first and most famous district is called Lan Kwai Fong. It is only a few minutes' walk from the Central station. Many small bars and pubs are lined up here... the choice is really difficult ;) Some of the bars even offer live music daily. You can also enjoy good food in this district. I can recommend the Good Luck Thai Food Restaurant, where I have already been with the Swiss Crew and couldn't miss it this time either. The service is well organized and the food is excellent.
The other bar district is located in the Wan Chai district. Here too, there are many bars and pubs to explore with live music.
Now on to a completely different topic: Not far from the hustle and bustle of the city, you will find a beautiful hiking trail on a 'mountain' ridge called Dragon's Back. However, hiking here requires some patience, as the route is very popular and the paths get crowded quickly. After the hike, we visited the nearby Big Wave Beach, hoping to catch a few waves. Unfortunately, once again, we only ended up relaxing, which was also worthwhile.
Now, a few details about Kowloon...
