But didn't go to Manly. It was cloudy this morning and then I decided to visit museums. I took the ferry to Circular Quay in the morning and went back to the Botanical Garden. My God, it was beautiful. Almost no people and I was able to experience this garden in peace. It is truly a fantastic garden with huge trees and great facilities. Then I wanted to visit the Government House, but it is closed for renovation until January 15th. I won't be able to repeat it next week either, as it is only open to visitors on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Too bad, it would have been very interesting for sure. Instead, I went to the Art Gallery of NSW in the afternoon. Huge exhibition from old masters to modern times. Currently there is a Rembrandt exhibition, but I didn't visit it. Too many people. Besides, Rembrandt is not my favorite painter. Later, by now it was already 4 pm, I wanted to go to the National Maritime Museum, but it closed at 5 pm. So I went towards the Rocks and ended up in the newly created Barangaroo Park. Hardly any people. I sat on a bench with a view of the Harbour Bridge and somehow there was also a sailing regatta around Goat Island. It was simply wonderful to sit there and observe everything. Then I wanted to eat something, but as I said, you can't get a seat in the restaurants. Everything is only with reservations. I must say, I wouldn't have fit in there either. The ladies were all really dressed up. Then I took the ferry home at 8 pm. Michelle had guests again for the Shabbat dinner and wanted me to join too, but I had to shower first and was really tired. Now I have opened the white wine that I actually wanted to take home and I'm writing my blog. By the way, it tastes really delicious. And once again, a beautiful day ends. See you tomorrow, Roswitha
