Troubled child Hermie

E hatisitsoe: 20.12.2019

We thought our Hermie had made it, had survived the man flu...

Unfortunately, his condition is deteriorating steadily.

A few days after the blinker was repaired, it failed again. Unfortunately, on a Saturday and our car rental couldn't find a workshop anymore and they don't have an emergency service. Since we had already booked a trip, we had to drive the 900km in two days, otherwise our whole schedule would no longer be accurate.

Of course, we didn't have a good feeling about it and we looked for possibilities and mechanics ourselves, as the car rental was not very committed.

We were lucky at a gas station and the cashier knew the customer behind us, who luckily was a car mechanic and was happy to take a look at our problem child. Actually, he managed to get the blinker and fuel gauge back in working order.

Unfortunately, this only lasted for 10 minutes and then failed again. So we drove 900km without a blinker and without a working fuel gauge...

On Monday, the car rental could finally give us a workshop that we could go to.

The prognosis was rather poor from the beginning. We spent over two hours in the workshop hoping that the problem could be fixed.

Then the mechanic told us that a part needed to be replaced, but it had to be ordered first.

They called around the whole area, but no one had the part in stock.

Our car rental is not really interested in the whole thing. We constantly hear that they are sorry, but they don't know what to do.

They always ignore the fact that this is our vacation and that we are wasting too much time and nerves because of the car.

The master of the workshop then took another look at it and actually managed to make our Hermie roadworthy again. However, both of us already had a feeling that this wouldn't last.

Well, and so everything failed again yesterday afternoon.

Since we are going to Brisbane today anyway, where Apollo also has a station, we will drive directly there and demand a new camper.
