Goodbye Switzerland and hello Canada

The backpack is packed, the carry-on and the ski bag as well, the passport is in, what else? ... oh, the credit card. That's how it was the evening before the departure. In retrospect, luckily I didn't forget anything. Everything worked perfectly at the airport in Zurich too. After an impressive but long flight over England, Iceland, Greenland, and the Rockies, the landing in Vancouver came. I'm quite excited because I've heard many stories about Canadian customs. Also, I have about 8 Swiss pocket knives, 1kg of fondue, and of course, my beloved Ovo with me. However, the customs officer didn't ask about the quantity of pocket knives, so I quickly grab my luggage and leave before the customs officer changes his mind. After a ride on the Skytrain, I dragged myself up Daviestreet with my 55kg of luggage (including ski bag) to my hostel. Oh, after being smiled at by quite a few men and passing several rainbow-colored pedestrian crossings, I also realized that I'm in the well-known Westend. (The Westend is known for its gay scene.) But no worries, the hostel turned out to be quite normal in the end. After a Subway sandwich at Sunsetbeach and being awake for 24 hours, it was finally time to throw in the towel and go to bed at 20:00 local time.
