Typically Swedish

We are always amazed at how tidy the gardens of the Swedes are, and we would also be directly involved in what we perceive as the favorite activity of the Swedes: mowing the lawn. It feels like someone is sitting on a lawnmower at every tenth house. In the others, there is simply a mower robot in the garden.

Obviously, people also like to sit in front of the house, reading, with a cup of coffee in hand or sunbathing. On Sundays, people meet for a chat in the local supermarket. And the teenagers are totally crazy with their learner cars (marked with a red warning triangle, limited to an estimated 30 km/h) with big speakers inside. They cruise through the streets of the respective place with loud music.

Besides fishing, golfing is obviously also very popular, at least the large number of golf courses indicates that. We were also amazed on Sunday when we saw numerous parked cars at a church. The big church was actually well attended.

Otherwise, we have really seen very little of the Swedes so far. Friendly but reserved, very helpful when asked. Della is disappointed that he has not yet seen typical beautiful Swedes (blond, tall) in addition to the moose.

Today I started with the racing bike and was able to join Louise after half a day's distance. We passed through the well-known Swedish winter sports resort Are and shortly afterwards turned right, our destination was the Tännforsen waterfall.

It is Sweden's largest waterfall, truly very impressive. The operators of the small café are quite proud of it and offer parking spaces in addition to delicious waffles with blueberry jam (again: thanks Gabi and Sascha for the tip), gloves and socks as well as other souvenirs.

Meanwhile, we are not far from the Norwegian border. They seem to take the import of goods very seriously, so we still have to drink away some alcoholic beverages. Have we not drunk enough? No, we are just a little ahead of time... ;-)
