Intensive Tage

E hatisitsoe: 08.01.2024

Welcome back. So much happened, even though it was only a few days :) We went to parties, made running cocktails, chilled, went to the gym etc. So I actually didn't get bored and it seems like it will last a while!

Getting to know people and connecting with them feels easier and more fun every day. Whether it's being upset together that we have to pay $250 for a single book (and that's why we're not taking the course) or being upset about how much preparatory work we have to do for the first lesson: at least we're doing it together! But yes, so far the university still doesn't shine in the best light. Today we were able to relax and read 2 articles of 20 pages each + a 15-minute test + a case study ++++ and all of that for a single subject, which we then have to study for another 3 hours. Let's see. how that will be. One thing is certain: different than in Cologne :D But I can also master that 100%

Let's talk about the good things: I've already been to the mall here, we've been downtown in London every now and then, we've seen almost everything from the university (I think) and tonight we're going to the cinema too! So I'm getting closer to being able to tell you something about the city. It's really a contrast to home, but that's exactly what I wanted to experience here! Right now we're still lucky with a pleasant 0 degrees, but next week we'll be closer to the expected temperatures of -9 degrees during the day. I'll probably have to go to the mall and get a new scarf! ;) Overall, I'm looking forward to the cold weather and am very excited to see how much snow there will be! Our apartment remains very pleasant despite the lack of windows! Yesterday I finally tried out the Jacuzzi bathtub and you definitely can't complain ;)

While yesterday was actually just chilling, today I definitely feel more productive again thanks to exercise, doing university errands and meeting people. The first lecture starts tomorrow and I'm really excited to see how it turns out! I'll keep you updated :D
