Today, getting up early was required - for a mountain tour to Mount Fuji: I want to go up! 🗻 So we decided on the Yoshida Trail and started from the 5th Station in dry weather.
Steady climbing was the order of the day and the thin high-altitude air above 3000m doesn't make it any easier.
After 1000 meters of ascent, we made it to the old 8th Station and the former pilgrimage destination and Buddha shrine below the crater. Mega, my brave Michi. The climb was only recommended for ages 10 and up!
The pleasant cool 10 degrees in the summit region compared to the muggy-warm Japan "below" became uncomfortable during the descent due to the onset of rain... as Markus said in between: "Why don't we just relax somewhere on the beach?" Valid question, but we'll still go to Wakayama.
