Arrival in Pucon (Araucania, Chile)

We took the night bus from Santiago to Pucon (11 hours), which was an experience in itself. Fortunately, we slept almost the entire ride and woke up with the sunrise just before reaching our destination.

The scenery offers a strong contrast to the Atacama Desert. A lake area with green forests surrounded by characteristic volcanoes with snow-covered peaks.

Pucon is a nice little town on the shore of Lake Villarrica. Most houses here are made of wood, just like our hostel.
