Hi. I know I've been very inconsistent when it comes to the blog lately. Diary is usually my priority and even then I often can't keep up. There's just a lot going on and between work and studying and social life, sometimes I can't quite keep up with my less important hobbies. What happened this month? My second semester at Javeriana has started and I'm obviously already behind, but I think that would be the case even without the internship. I also have new friends, one in particular. My best friend from the new semester is called Xixi and comes from Chile. We've seriously known each other for a month, but it feels so much longer. This weekend we went to a house party on Friday at the other house of the owner of the house where Xixi lives. Afterwards we wanted to go party, but Xixi and I made the mistake of going back to her house to get ready and when we got there it was already 3 or so. Then we just drove back home. It was still a really cool evening. Unfortunately I forgot to drink water that evening and had quite a headache the next day. I actually think I've learned pretty well how to prevent hangovers, but sometimes you forget that in the heat of the moment. So Saturday started very slowly and late for me, but at 5 I went to play padel with a friend of mine and two of his friends. Pádel is a sport that was invented in Mexico but has very strong similarities to tennis. The clubs and the field are a little different and some of the rules. But that was really cool. It's definitely an adjustment if you've played tennis all your life. But it actually made me miss playing tennis a lot. I love it a little. And right now, sport is unfortunately being neglected. I actually play football at university, but our coach just decided to leave a week before the start of the semester and no replacement has been found yet. There is also a gym at the university that is freely accessible to all students, but I haven't tried it yet. I have to. Anyway, on Saturday after paddling I went home very quickly and took a shower (had to have a cold one) and then I went to the center where I met David (one of my best friends and work colleague), Annika (ex-work colleague), her husband met a friend of her husband and a friend of David. First we went to a restaurant and then we went to a bar where you can play Tejo. Tejo is more or less the national sport of Colombia. You have to throw a discus-shaped disc from a few meters away into a circle of red triangular black powder bags (that sounds very complicated, it's not that difficult). We played in teams and I don't want to reveal who won (it wasn't me), but I had to say that I played very well. I drank a Lulada with it and it really hit. On Sunday I went with David and Selma, another work colleague, to the area around Calle 70, where we looked for a café, but finally ended up in Herbívoro, a vegan restaurant that you can't miss as a vegan here. We all munched on an empanada and a piece of cake, my cake was the best (obvi). So my weekend was a complete success. I love weekends here. So much. I just want to live in Bogotá in a never-ending weekend. In general, it shouldn't all end here. But I still have 5 months (that's how little I cry). Sometimes I briefly think about Göttingen, which I also love very much. But somehow you can't compare it at all. And if I had to decide, unfortunately it wouldn't be that difficult for me. And that's not because Göttingen isn't great. I also love Göttingen very, very, very much and it would probably be a different situation if I knew I was coming back from Göttingen to Bogotá and not from Bogotá to Göttingen. Bogotá had such a limitation for me from the start and that of course makes me want it even more. But I would put my hand in the fire to ensure that this isn't the last time I live here. Nevertheless, I miss you all very much <3
