Hi guys,
we have a car!!😍
We survived the last night in the party hostel very well and even slept relatively well.
Since we had to check out at 10 o'clock, we got ready shortly after getting up, packed our things together, had breakfast quickly and then dropped off the key at the reception. Fortunately, we were able to store our backpacks there for a few more hours, as we could only check in at our other hostel from 12 o'clock.
So we dropped off the backpacks and then went into town in a good mood to have a coffee. We spent the remaining 2 hours in a really nice café and then hiked to the next hostel with all our luggage.
Just arrived at "Banana Bender Backpackers" we were both excited! The hostel is super quiet, has a terrace with a great view and there is a nice atmosphere.
We had just unpacked our things and were sitting on the terrace in the sun when the two Finns, the car sellers, arrived at our hostel. The two had already prepared everything and brought all the necessary documents printed out! Together we filled out all the papers, which was really easy and went really fast. Definitely no comparison to German bureaucracy!😅
Then we went to the car and the nice Finn, whose name I unfortunately forgot, was allowed to take the last ride with the car by taking the two of them to their accommodation.
The journey took about 40 minutes and we had a great conversation! Since the two of them plan to continue their journey in New Zealand, we could help each other with tips for the respective destination and complement each other perfectly. The two were really very nice!
Now the time had come, the two got their money, we got the key and then suddenly we could call the pickup with roof tent, which was standing next to the four of us, our own. A cool feeling!
We said goodbye to the two of them and suddenly there were only the two of us in the car! We smiled at each other and high-fived, because we had mastered the next big step!
Since I have now somewhat accustomed to driving on the left, we decided that I would sit behind the wheel for the time being and so we drove to the nearest supermarket, as we were both really hungry and thirsty.
Afterwards we took another look at the "K-Mart". A shop where there is really EVERYTHING!
From washing machine to children's socks and flower vase, here we can buy everything that may not already be in the car. But we will probably only know exactly what we need after the first few nights, so we decided not to buy anything for now except a mobile phone holder for the car and then we threw ourselves back into the city. As it is in a big city, the way through all the traffic was a bit stressful, but that worked out very well too.
When we were back at the hostel, we even found a parking space immediately despite the location in the middle of the city.
By now it was already 7 p.m. and we were hungry again. So we went shopping briefly and then had dinner together with many other backpackers who seemed to be nice in our hostel kitchen.
Right now we just watched a movie and now we're going to sleep.
Tomorrow we will have our first day when we are both healthy and can simply do what we want in Brisbane, as we were able to check off all the important points on our to-do list in the last few days.
For a peaceful and restful night!😊
Greetings from Brisbane, Australia!🇦🇺
Your Tim!😊
