So this is it. As soon as you post a post with a bathing suit photo, it gets twice as many views. That's typical, my high literature art is just pearls before swine! But joking aside! After we had a night off in Santa Marta, we drove along the coast to a small town called Palomino. There are a lot of tourists here, no wonder with the scenery! Benni and I decided, even though it was illegal to camp on the beach. To make sure nobody sees us, we walked along the beach for ages with our backpacks. But it paid off! Finally a little adventure! We also had imported toast and rum under an incredible starry sky, so romantic!
The next morning we decided to split up again after another forced march. Benni and Pauli wanted to go to a specific festival in Medellin, while I decided to continue westward to Riohacha. Maybe, I thought, it's good to keep traveling alone to get out of your comfort zone. Besides, the desert further west is supposed to be very cool!
When you travel alone, you have a lot of time to think. I decided to try my vegetarianism again, which I had actually given up on for this trip. However, this could prove difficult in the coming days in the desert!
Furthermore, I noticed something that had already bothered me a little about the trip: the limited time. You can't fly home when you're done with the country, no, you have to find satisfaction in 7 weeks. If you stay in one place for too long, you run the risk of missing out on something. If you keep moving constantly, you don't have a chance to delve deeper into the culture!
However, this is complaining at a high level. However, I know what I will do differently next time: not to book a return flight!
