Today, thanks to the Japan Rail Pass, we took a leisurely train ride to Kawaguchiko. Getting the pass was the hardest part so far because we couldn't find the New South Exit at Shinjuku Station in Tokyo. The nice Japanese people who always helped us didn't really know either. Anyway, you go to Kawaguchiko to see Mount Fuji. Unfortunately, there were many thick clouds in the sky today. But we still went and walked by Lake Kawaguchi and suddenly we could see the summit between the clouds for a few minutes. That was awesome. I also took a photo of an excited Japanese guy with his mom because he was so happy about Mount Fuji. The hotel here is a ryokan, traditionally furnished with all sorts of peculiarities. After the onsen (hot communal bath, separate for men and women, first wash/shower while sitting on a stool, then hot bath, then wash again, then dry off and try out all the creams and lotions that are available), a kind of geisha gradually brought us a very long menu. I think we ate for at least 1.5 hours. After dessert, suddenly 2 men came into the room - making beds. They quickly rearranged and made the futons in maybe 1 minute and 28 seconds, and then they were gone again. As traditional as everything is here, now the TV is on and we're watching the opening match! And tomorrow we'll be sitting in the stadium in Yokohama ourselves, watching the All Blacks!!!
