End in Delhi

E hatisitsoe: 24.02.2019

Resetting everything to the beginning is what one could think. I was back in Delhi again and therefore where I started 54 days ago. Once again, I checked into a hotel in 'Pahar Ganj'. Simply because I believe that it's the perfect starting point. I had one more day, and then unfortunately, this amazing journey would come to an end.

I once again experienced the 'normal chaos' for which Delhi is perfect. Once again, I went to the metro and this time I went to the 'Hazrat Nizamuddin' station. From there, it was just a short walk to the 'Humayun Mausoleum'. Along the way, I walked through a very luxurious neighborhood where you wouldn't think you're in Delhi. And once again, I could say that I was back on day one of this journey, as I visited (you remember) the 'Lodi Garden'. There are definitely similarities in terms of architecture. However, it can also be compared a bit to the 'Taj Mahal' in Agra. The grandeur was missing here, especially the expansive marble floors in Agra.

The visit definitely had its charm. Everything was once again located in a beautiful green area.

In the afternoon, I continued with the metro to 'Connaught Place', a large central square where you can shop in a Western style at Western prices if you want to. I strolled around, treated myself to a McFlurry (Black Forest Cherry flavor) at McDonald's, and then continued to 'Chandni Chowk'.

Here, I was immediately back in the India that I like. Everything was in motion - cars, rickshaws, cows, people, and buses - everyone was shouting and honking as much as they could. From here, I leisurely walked back towards 'Pahar Ganj' in the evening.

The next morning, it was time to say goodbye. After a good hearty breakfast, I grabbed my backpack and headed towards the metro again. Of course, I made a final stop at my friend's place for a last Masala Chai!

Namaste.....
