Highlight of the day: Finally, there was some uphill and downhill. And I have crossed the 500km mark.
Today strong wind called Bise was announced and therefore I wanted to start early, while it is not yet so strong. The sky was blue and clear, but the wind, from which I had been spared so far, was already there. The major part of today's stage followed the Aare river bank again. Since the path was mostly surrounded by trees, the Bise was somewhat weakened.
Soon the village of Flumenthal appeared on the opposite side. There live the two brothers Andreas and Christian Zimmermann. Both are adventurers who have already made amazing journeys. For example, Andreas has done the Appalachian Trail with a length of more than 3,000 km and Christian recently walked to Moscow. They write books and give lectures about it. They inspired me with their achievements to do this tour.
Soon after that I arrived in Wangen aA. Another place with an old covered wooden bridge over the Aare river. I just had to take a short detour through the town and to the Coop supermarket. Then I found a sheltered spot where I took a short break.
The path continued along the right bank well beyond Wangen. Then a narrow bridge led to the left side, where the path was equally windy until the Bannwil hydroelectric power plant. There I crossed the river again and soon I could leave the Aare river behind me.
It may sound strange, but now I was really happy that it is finally not so flat anymore and that there is always some up and down until Langenthal.
Komoot led me past the train station and only 20 minutes later I found my BnB for today.
