House by the sea

Day 37 - 10/17/23

After heavy overnight rain, we set off along the coast via Queen Charlotte Drive to Nelson in bright sunshine.

The view that opens up to us is beautiful and memories of the fjords in Norway are awakened.

Our Nelson accommodation is located high on the hillside with breathtaking views

The house is located in a “rich settlement” whose houses do not look ostentatious, but where you can simply see the wealth of the owners. They are lovingly decorated with unobtrusive details and are in remarkably good condition - simply very pleasant to look at.

Our landlords are passionate sailors and came to New Zealand from California in 1973 - at least that's what we could tell from the house folder.

If our beautiful accommodation wasn't so steeply situated on a slope, it would be the perfect retirement home.
