We start the day with a delicious breakfast of croffels, scrambled eggs, bacon and passion fruit. There is a lot to discover in our hotel but we want to see a bit of culture. So off we go again towards the SkyTrain and Metro to get to the “Grand Palace” and the “Wat Pho”.
The path there is a bit long and there is little shade, which is not for us in our long trousers. But there is no other way to enter the temples!
When we arrived at the Grand Palace we first had to pay an entrance fee of 500 baht (approx. 12 euros) per person, but it was definitely worth it! Very impressive colorful and shiny gold buildings that rise high into the sky and a huge area where there is something new to see on every corner.
Wat Poh and especially the “Great Golden Buddha” found here were also very impressive. A huge reclining Buddha figure made entirely of gold in an equally huge temple.
Then we went back to the hotel and relaxed a bit at the infinity pool. The view was amazing and we were able to enjoy a bit of the sunset.
In the evening we wanted to go into the city again and had a little something to eat in the “MBK Center” (another shopping center). Once again very tasty!
Afterwards we went to a sky bar and were able to admire Bangkok at night from above. A breathtaking view!
But that wasn't it, because we went to “Khao San Road”, which is the party mile in Bangkok. There was a lot going on here and there was a lot of chatting. Still very exciting to see, but we were also happy when it was over.
With the grave back to the hotel and pretty exhausted we went to bed!
