The Stockholmers like to call their subway stations the longest gallery in the world. Not completely without reason. Local artists are given the opportunity to legally exhibit their artwork in public spaces. Already 150 artists have immortalized themselves in the stations.
I had read that before and was curious about the T-Bana, the Tunnelbana (subway) of Stockholm. It's very uncomplicated, I buy a day ticket via the app and visit many stations, get off and am amazed at how beautiful subway stations can be. What a great idea.
Around 12 o'clock I happen to be near the Royal Palace and decide to watch the changing of the guard.
It has something folkloristic about it and seems a bit out of time. Nevertheless, it is beautiful to watch.
In Östermalm, I have my afternoon coffee, including Punchrullar. Delicious. I sit down with many other people who are sitting in front of a church. I have seen this several times in Sweden: there is Fika - drinking coffee and eating cake with friends in or around churches.
Then it's back to the hotel to pack my things. I have to check in at the ferry at 6.15 tomorrow morning.
