Medellín

E hatisitsoe: 09.05.2019

Medellín is a relatively new-looking city with many high-rise buildings. On our first day, we visited the Pablo Escobar tour, which is not recommended as it mostly speaks in favor of Pablo and his good deeds. However, it was exciting to learn a little more about the infamous drug lord. We met his brother Roberto Escobar, saw the house where he spent his last days, and visited his grave.

After the two Germans continued to Cartagena, I met Ali again and we took the cable car together to a higher park that would be good for hiking, but unfortunately it started raining, so we explored the city on foot for a little while.

The next day, we participated in the Free Walking Tour and learned a little more about the history of Medellín.

The graffiti tour through Communa 13 (the former most dangerous neighborhood in Medellín and therefore the most dangerous place in the world) was very informative about the history of the city.

With my move to a Swiss hostel, I was rewarded with a delicious breakfast including fresh Zopf.

On my last day, we visited Guatape. The third largest climbable rock rewarded us with a beautiful view of the reservoir. And the city itself is the second most colorful in the world and was therefore also worth a visit.
