9.35 am, our plane should take off from Majuro. And it actually worked. However, Kiribati is out, because we already booked our flight from Kiribati to Nauru today. White sandy beaches and turquoise water line the 33 coral atolls. Unfortunately, Kiribati will be the first nation to fall victim to climate change. The highest elevation is only 3 meters above sea level, making the islands extremely vulnerable to coastal erosion. Already, new land is being sought for the residents to live on. We only made a brief stopover in the capital Tarawa and enjoyed the view of the dream islands from above.
