We leave Trogir and arrive at the "Krka" campsite around noon, a small, family-run campsite not far from the national park. We are greeted very friendly and get a great spot in the shade of the pine trees, we don't even have to uncouple the trailer. The campsite offers a guided day tour which we reserve for the next day.
But we want to have a look around today, so we grab our bikes and ride the (supposed) 3 km to the entrance (which turned out to be over 4 km 😬). Since I'm not the most confident cyclist, I find the route on the main road without a bike lane quite stressful. The trucks drive so close to you that a gust of wind blows my cap off 😳. The heat and lack of sleep make me completely exhausted when we arrive back at the campsite.
By the way, you couldn't see anything from the entrance, you are taken to the waterfalls in shuttle buses. We can only catch a glimpse of the river from a side road.
In the evening, Ingo takes a short walk with Gynnie. Unfortunately, she has to deal with the resident cat who just had kittens and is probably in defense mode. Ingo stepped in. Well, at least the cats weren't hurt 😬
