Wild camping in Akaroa
Last night it was extremely windy up here and we couldn't stay outside for too long without fearing that we would blow away ;). Unfortunately, the wind hasn't died down yet this morning. Unlike last night, this morning you can hardly see anything of the beautiful view because it's very foggy. As we drive along a road that leads along the mountain range, it clears up a bit so that we can look down into the valley again. Back in Christchurch, we first go to a library to plan our further journey. Because after our stay in New Zealand, we're not flying to Southeast Asia as planned, but extending New Zealand and Sydney by a week each and flying from Sydney to the Fiji Islands for two weeks. In the late afternoon, we drive to Arthur's Pass to do a hike in the evening sun in the village of Bealey. Due to the time, we don't hike the entire way and turn around at an altitude of 1000 meters. Before the hike, we're all pretty unmotivated, but the further we go, the better we feel and after 3.5 hours when we arrive back down, we're all proud to have made it and feel really good.
