From Schwalmstadt to Nidda

Last night it rained, in the morning the sun was shining again. That's how it should be. When we left, we found out that we had stayed right next to the correctional facility. We didn't even notice.

After about 15 km of relatively flat course, things got tough. Climbs in the double-digit percentage range had to be conquered several times, in some places we could only continue on foot. Unfortunately, the sun became rarer throughout the day, so we spent most of the time under a gray sky. We had lunch at the glider airport in Schotten. Here we could wait dry in the only small rain shower. Afterwards, it was mostly downhill. Our plan to stop somewhere on the way and have an ice cream failed due to the day of the week. Apparently, the whole area is closed on Mondays. In the end, we were glad to find an open cafe in Nidda (the weather had turned positive again), which didn't have any cake, but at least had fruit spritzers and coffee. Tonight we will inevitably have Italian food. There is nothing else here.
