We are fond of the local markets with craftsmanship and various delicacies. Today we are going to the Sunday Market in Motueka, where we recognize some traders from the Nelson Market and spend a lovely morning. In the blazing sun, we enjoy a delicious ice cream from the market. Afterwards, we continue to the Rawhiti Cave in Abel Tasman National Park. To reach it, we hike along a steep and rugged trail, where funny enough, a goat crosses our path. Arriving at the cave, we are surprised by its impressive size. A special feature of this cave is that both stalactites (icicle-like dripstones that grow from the ceiling downwards) and stalagmites (a dripstone that grows from the cave floor upwards) are formed here. After that, we drive to Tata Beach, a beach in Abel Tasman National Park, to cool off with a swim. For dinner, we have fresh corn cobs from the market.
