Forst-Guben-Eisenhüttenstadt

... sunrise, although rain is forecast ...

... let's have a look.

Before we leave Forst, we don't want to withhold a graffiti from you ...

Simply stunning!

As a theme day today would be appropriate: The disappeared bridges.

The beginning is in Forst at the Kegeldamm ...

No. 1 until 1945 ...

... and today ... confusingly, all houses on the Polish side of the Neisse are missing ...

... then, after 200 meters, there is already bridge No. 2 ...

... and another 200 m further the bridge No. 3, which has probably been there since 1945 and is only visible due to the low water level ... in no man's land between Poland and Germany ... maybe that's the whole explanation why it still lies exactly there.

A few kilometers north ...

... follows at Sacro No. 4 ...

... in between there are sections that stand out, with long straight sections, with gravel that is located in the area of the path - we are driving on a former railway line that leads us to the power plant in Griessen.

It starts to rain and we take shelter - should we put on rain clothes or wait a bit longer? Anyway, there is enough time for me to...

... take a look at the heavily guarded MIG-21 ...

... practical, the garden hose can be stored on the elevator ...

Rain clothes! Well chosen ... the road is already getting wet.

No. 5 follows at Albertinenaue ...

I wonder what story the railing post could tell from 1945?

You can pick pears yourself along the way - and the owner's cat helps.

Then follows No. 6 ...

There is coffee and cake in Guben and right across the street a great opportunity to shape the consumed energy into the desired form...

... but we set off again and pass No. 6 in Guben...

But something completely different: How do hundreds of cranes know when and where to gather for their journey south?

In Coschen on August 30th, 2018 ... there they are!

At Ratzdorf, Oder and Neisse meet ... everything is more mighty now.

Thanks to construction work on the dam, we make a short detour to Neuzelle ... just a few kilometers!

But then we finally arrive in Eisenhüttenstadt after 73 km and for me there is a black abbot ...
