Calm down (and get excited) in the Elbe Sandstone Mountains

The next magical forest awaited us in the Elbe Sandstone Mountains - only this time without hippies.....

Incredibly beautiful nature with picturesque rock formations, root systems and fern groves. The pictures speak for themselves....Oh yes....and also a very special day for me....the 11th of July - so 30 years of being a vegetarian....or was there something else?

Added on the day of departure:

OK, it was a strange feeling to drive past Heidenau and the conversations with our host Gerd about the audacity of 'those in Berlin' that he should 'just throw away his oil heating' because 'they want it that way' were at least irritating, although not surprising. But: Raised Reich war flags in allotment gardens, policemen and customs officers who all looked like Nazis in new uniforms, and young people wearing t-shirts with the Germanic typo inscription 'Überzeugungsthäter' and 'Wir bleiben deutsch' make us sick and we would gladly leave this spot, as wonderful as nature is....
