In the morning, a camel came to see us, he was more curious than us and again he had more courage than me. He stared at us long enough and wandered around. Meanwhile, the sun came out, but it was still pleasantly cold. Surprisingly colder than other places we slept. We took a little longer to pack, yesterday in the sandstorm we did a bit of hokey with things. On the way back we enjoy riding in the sand and on the way back to the first valley we choose a path that is almost like a ski slope. We like it, so we go around one more time.
Then we say goodbye to the desert and go to Wadi Bani Khalid. In the upper part there is a well-known and sought-after natural swimming pool, and in the lower part there is a canyon also called Wádí Hawer, and we go there first. The entire canyon is about 6 km long and it takes 4-6 hours + the round trip back. That's tempting, but we'd have to be here earlier and without the kids. We meet other groups who walked about 40 minutes there and back, we will do the same. Right behind the start are natural slides where children can have fun. Next, we climb boulders, wade and swim. We reach a high waterfall with a lake, we go around it to the right. We let Lenka and David rest under the waterfall and go for a little walk with Aneta and Ota. We go back in places by a different route and crawl under the rock.
At dusk, we still look at the tourist part of the river, nice, but quite civilized. The most beautiful is the way back along the falaji. At the parking lot, we decide to find accommodation for 2 nights. We are located via Airbnb in a house right by the beach in Ras al Hadd. In the evening, Ota and I go to the beach to see if we can find a turtle, because it goes to this beach to lay its eggs, but it's too late. At least we find turtle tracks.
