Tour data: 64.2 km (total 2,495 km), max. 49.9 km/h, avg. 22.5 km/h, travel time 2:50 hours
Weather: very sunny and warm again, gusty wind towards the end of the tour.
Today is the national holiday in Norway. That's why I stayed longer in Fredrikstad and watched the parade after taking a walk through the city. It would have been much bigger and more impressive in Oslo. But now I experienced it on a smaller scale and I am already a significant distance further south.
However, the place itself is highly recommended as it also does not have an old town section, which I visited before. But I won't write anything about that, please take a look at the pictures.
The hotel had an amazing breakfast buffet, unfortunately I couldn't eat the same for the next few days, but it really tempted me. After the city stroll, I had to pack first and store the luggage in the storage room, where my bike was already placed.
After the parade, all I had to do was go to the hotel, take my bike, and I was ready to go. The lady at the reception was so nice and took a photo of me with the bike before that.
The route I planned for today was not as long as usual because it would have become too late. However, I am still continuing towards Gothenburg, which is the next major city I want to visit.
Right after the town, I had to cross a very high bridge. Fortunately, there was a special bike path, and I didn't have to ride on the road. After that, I continued on many bike paths or less traveled roads. Later, I was able to take a small detour to avoid going back on a kind of highway. This detour led through a side road that was practically not used. In the whole 15 kilometers, I maybe encountered ten cars.
I also need to mention that I crossed the border from Norway to Sweden again via another very high bridge. Then I am driving south again in Sweden until I reach Denmark quite far down over a bridge.
