West Coast USA - Day 18 - Los Angeles Sightseeing by Car + Starting Highway 1 + Giant Trees

Publikuar: 19.01.2017

Yesterday on foot, today by car (continuing on Highway 1) through Los Angeles. First, we wanted to see the Golden Gate Bridge again in good weather. So we went to the coast to the Terpedo Warf.

Then we headed towards Lands End, from where you could once again see the other side of the bridge and the Pacific.

The journey continued along the 49-Mile-Drives. The path took us to Legion of Honor, Sutro Bath (cool cave), Golden Gate Park (Japanese Tea Garden - $8 admission, not really worth it) and finally to Twin Peaks.

You have to go here because the view of the entire city (Golden Gate, Downtown, Harbor, etc.) is beautiful. This stop was the crowning conclusion for the city of San Francisco.

Our journey continued along Highway no. 1 towards Los Angeles.

Before reaching our campsite in Monterey, we decided to make a detour to Henry Cowell State Park to admire the giant sequoia trees (unfortunately, Yosemite was closed). We reached the park at dusk, but were lucky enough to catch the last rays of sun.

Once it was completely dark, we continued driving.
