Hello dear ones,

Today was once again a really great day. We woke up again in bright sunshine, a car can only be darkened to a certain extent, and had our cereal/ cornflakes for breakfast. Afterwards, we drove to the Community Center and used the showers there. It's really fascinating what you can find in apps. After that, we set off for Mahia Peninsula. It had been recommended to us the day before by the iSite employee. And I can only say thank you for this tip. It was simply wonderfully beautiful. Due to a small detour, we explored both sides of the peninsula and enjoyed many great views. At one point, we climbed a hill and could feel like we were looking out over the entire peninsula and the sea. A really great place that I can only recommend. Lina just said that we must have traveled to another world because the landscape was so incredible today. On the way back, we stopped at the Mahia Peninsula Scenic Reserve and went for a hike. This hike will definitely not make it onto my list of favorites, as the path was incredibly muddy, we had to cross the same creek about 10 times, of course without any bridges, and we basically just walked through the forest the whole time. But other than that, the hike was completely okay and the exercise did us good. After that, it was lunchtime or as we now call it Peanutbutter-Jelly-Time. As we sat in the car, it became windier and it started to rain lightly. But we didn't care because we were already in the car. After our well-deserved meal, we headed towards Gisborne, where we arrived in the late afternoon. Here, we didn't do much except for getting information at the iSite, buying and cooking dinner. Today we had spinach ravioli with cheese filling in tomato sauce. After washing up and rearranging the car, I now have enough time to write this blog.

Tomorrow we want to explore Gisborne a little more and then head towards Whakatane, where we found a great deal for a hotel. Finally, we can sleep in separate beds again and toss and turn without kicking each other. And there's wifi again. Yay.

See you tomorrow, your Jessi
