From the airport, Stewart and I went to the car to drive home. It felt quite strange to get in on the left side as a passenger and driving on the wrong side was even weirder. Stewart and I were able to have a good conversation in the car, apart from the fact that I was very tired after the long exhausting flight, the English language was not as much of a problem as I had feared.
When we arrived home, which is located in Brighton, a suburb of Melbourne, I was greeted warmly by Emily, the mother. The family also includes the 3-year-old boy William and the 8-month-old daughter Grace.
Emily advised me to avoid jet lag by not sleeping, even if I may be very tired, which I really was. But since it was 7 o'clock in the morning when I arrived and my body would otherwise go crazy, I tried to follow her advice. However, this did not work completely. After being shown around the house, I went to my room to rest. I tried my best to fight against it, but the tiredness was stronger, so I slept for about 3 hours.
In the afternoon, I went with Emily to pick up Will from daycare, and after dinner, I could do nothing else but fall into bed completely exhausted.
