On Friday morning we drove from Monkey Mia to Shell Beach. This is a beautiful white beach made entirely of shells. There is not a single grain of sand to be seen. We were lucky and almost the only tourists there. The panorama was truly fascinating and we recommend everyone to make a short stop there if you are nearby.
Our next destination was Kalbarri. On the way there, we noticed how rare petrol stations are here. Although we visited every petrol station we could find, we had to worry twice if we had enough fuel. Tip for anyone who wants to drive the same route: bring a reserve canister. Sometimes the fuel gauge was below zero and we had no internet or mobile reception. But luckily everything went well.
On the drive, we saw emus and many kangaroos. Unfortunately, we saw more dead ones on the side of the road than alive. But that's just part of it.
In the late afternoon, we reached Kalbarri and went straight to "Island Rock" to enjoy the sunset. The view was overwhelming. You could see so far that it seemed like you could see the curvature of the earth.
The day ended once again at a camping site. Brush your teeth, make a pee, and then off to bed... um... into the camper van ;-)
